Time for a Break-Through in Your Relationships?
How I Can Help I wish change were as simple as trying harder, but we all know that it is not. Change follows an understanding of who you are, and where you have been. Change begins with an empathetic listener who challenges you to think deeper and choose among possibilities that you may have never considered before. Change is made possible by a secure identity as a child of God and a conviction that you can be a vessel for God's use. Through counseling, you will have a deeper knowledge of who you are, why you do what you do, who God is calling you to be, and what steps you can take to get there. You will also gain a richer perspective on communication and learn what to do when you feel trapped and it seems that you have no options.
What you can expect You can expect a comfortable, professional environment where you are accepted for who you are. You can expect confidentiality and expertise in empathetic understanding. Payment is subject to a sliding scale based on income. You can expect counsel from a trained counselor who is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Generally, you can expect to meet for one hour weekly for a period between ten weeks and one year, depending on your needs.
Who I am I am a PhD student at Fuller Seminary working in the area of pastoral counseling. I have fifteen years of experience as a counselor and pastor. My wife and I have five children and have been married for sixteen years. I have studied at several seminaries and have three masters degrees: in Theology, Divinity, and Religion. I also work as an adjunct professor of biblical studies at Biola University, and have written several articles in religious magazines.
